Brooke Douglas,  MS, AMFT

As a pre-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with five years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered to grow. My work is grounded in empathy and curiosity. Before earning my master’s degree, I worked in a behavioral health hospital, supporting individuals through acute mental health crises. That experience grounded me in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention. Later, I worked extensively in residential treatment with adolescents, helping them navigate trauma, anxiety, emotional regulation, and identity development. These experiences shaped my approach: empathetic, steady, creative, and attuned to both emotional and practical needs. My own journey through grief has also influenced my work. I understand how loss can shake identity and purpose, and I strive to offer clients patience, tenderness, and space as they honor what they’ve lost and find new ways forward. I draw from an integrative blend of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), experiential work, attachment-focused work, solution-focused strategies, and person-centered principles. I’m trained in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and PREPARE/ENRICH premarital counseling. I enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, and life transitions, as well as young couples and families seeking healthier communication, emotional connection, and self-awareness. Outside the therapy room, I find joy in nature, creativity, and staying connected to what gives life meaning.
