Dr. Sylvia Love, M.A., M.A., PsyD
Dr. Sylvia Love is a licensed clinical psychologist. Her desire is to understand emotional processes and healing which inspired her to earn a degree in the helping profession. Her goal as a therapist is to help her patients acquire skills to live a more fulfilling life and learn how to navigate through the challenges they face, in this journey called life.
Dr. Love strives to be an anchor of strength and support throughout your therapeutic process and meet you where you are as we embark on your healing voyage. As a therapist, she listens to understand your concerns and collaboratively work with you to identify effective solutions and interventions to help transform your emotional and psychological health. Her priority is to meet your therapeutic needs within a non-judgmental, safe, and caring environment to soften existing barriers and develop a strong therapeutic relationship.
She is dedicated to helping clients address issues related to depression, grief, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, ADHD, trauma, PTSD, bereavement, anger management, relationship issues, adjustment disorder, and other mental health disorders. She is particularly interested in helping clients enhance their interpersonal communication skills by learning how to express their emotions and be assertive, mainly during challenging situations.
Throughout her career, she has worked with diverse populations of children, teenagers, adults, and veterans. She has helped her clients develop an understanding of how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. Dr. Love uses several therapeutic techniques to help clients recognize their strengths, clarify goals, and make healthy choices.
Dr. Love follows the strict ethical codes set by the American Psychological Association and confidentiality is a top priority.
Her office is handicap accessible and she sees patients Monday – Wednesday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. She provides continuing and comprehensive mental and behavioral health care for individuals, couples, and families.
